What is the problem with our local newspapers? Mrs. H is only one of many mothers concerned about the special education program in the SFASD. Why are they not contacting Mrs. H and other mothers?
It was the same a couple of years ago when Mrs. Hoffman sued the district in federal court and won. If I recall correctly she was awarded over $500,000 in total.
It is apparent that the Mercury will not print anything of a negative nature regarding the SFASD. Why is this?

Mr. H: The Board knows they are covering up (or trying to) the problem. DO NOT back down. They already ruined the quality of life for your oldest child due to the mold and continue to do the same to your youngest. I heard you had a doctor's note that specifically said not to let your child go back to school due to the mold in the building.
The treatment your youngest child has received is appalling.
Springford is trying desperately to put together a "paper trail" but will get caught. Hang in there!
Mrs. H., I note that a school board member with similiar interests to yours does nothing but sit back and say he knows nothing about your difficulties. He says the Superintendent didn't tell the board members anything. Well damn, the entire community knows.
Yet, when he ran for office he used it as a reason for running.

That is one way of looking at the situation. Another is, that children without special needs have their parent's to ***ist with their educational needs. Most parents have been given those tools through their own education. Reading, writing, math etc. etc.
Special training and life skills are needed in order to educate a special needs child. Most parents of a special needs child have not been 'trained' in educating a child whose needs are beyond the norm.
Something that would take unique training, education and tools. If we don't help the children who have these needs and the families who need the help, who does?

Listen up Ladies and Gentlemen. Did you know that for the next school year, 2004-2005, less money will be alloted to Special Education than last year, 2002-2003?
DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU MIGHT BE TOLD! Our Special Education children are being treated like so many second cl*** citizens. SF's budget is so much manipulation. A Letter to the Editor will be appearing soon explaining the "real" special education figures in the budget.
Shocking! Our school board directors have again failed those children most in need. They make believe they understand the crap Anspach and Coale spew forth, but understand nothing. ED CUMMINS.....what do you have to say?
Our Special Education children are pushed aside for a $500,000.00 strings program and a feeding at the taxpayer's trough.

It is my understanding that the PDE actually called SFASD and TOLD them what paperwork they were missing! SFASD can try all they want to put together the right papers, however, they can't undo how they handled many situations.
Sounds like the Dept. of Health; they call the District and let them know they are coming so the Maintenance crew has time to replace stained ceiling tiles and paint over mold.
Mrs. H has EVERYTHING documented, so the District can squirm all they want. They can't get out of this one.

Barb Hagan, Do you know that Coale hasn't officially told the board yet? The entire community knows and the board just sits back and doesn't ask questions.
They see the messages on the LIM-SF and other forums and don't ask any questions. I guess they are afraid Coale will yell at them or yank on their leashes. CUMMINS-SCHROEDER-MASCIANDARO-STOKES.....all must go in 2005.

A few mothers of special education children could be at graduation Friday night. They could stand outside the stadium with signs reading, for example, SFASD UNFAIR TO SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS SF SCHOOL BOARD DIVERTS $500,000.00 FROM SPECIAL ED FOR A STRINGS PROGRAM

When the residents of the SFASD learn the details of this matter they will be appalled. As usual the district will do whatever to keep this matter under wraps. The shocking aspect of it all is that the school board knows of this matter, but until they are FORCED to deal with it and Coale, they will continue to ignore it. Secrecy is Coale's friend. If Coale is able to hide this matter away, next year another parent will no doubt face the same difficulties.

To my understanding, Heather Carlson was asked to resign. The districts reason was falsification of records. Marion oversees all records. Are we p***ing the buck??

Hi Everyone: Regarding Special Education...I agree with Moldfree a good portion of the special ed is funded by ACCESS.
The one question I have for all of the special needs parents...do you know that you can REVOKE your right at anytime for the district to bill MEDICAL ACCESS? I found out and unfortunately the district was not too thrilled when I decided to revoke my right.
If all the special ed parents would revoke the right for the district to bill MEDICAL ACCESS maybe the district would be a little more apt to help out the parents who really are willing to work with the district. It really stinks that you have to be that way, but remember that we have to fight for everything we get for our kids.
The person to call to revoke is DIANE BEARD in the district office.
What do all of the parents say...maybe if we all sign a sheet to revoke the right to bill ACCESS things will be a little better where the special needs kids are concerned. The thing that I would hope is that once they cannot bill ACCESS and realize that they need the money from ACCESS to help defray some of the special ed costs...they might be more reasonable and not screw with the special ed parents, especially the ones that care!!
Well...This could be an interesting thing to do if everyone would do it. Anyone have any thoughts on this suggestion?

Jeff, You nailed that down perfectly. Nine morons mean no threat to her job security. An intelligent board would have fired her a long time ago. We still don't know about the pervert. We still don't know about the technical faux pau. The mold problem is being hidden. Everytime the board goes to buy property or build a school it's a major disaster very costly to the residents. We still don't know about the ACT-34 fine from 2003.
The Special Education problems are being hidden. No one is ever held responsible. The residents get lies, lies and more lies!

Coale and Marion must go. Let the henchmen go to the top dogs. When will the school board decide to hold someone responsible. Is there NO accountability in the SFASD?
I've said it over and over. Coale wants the most stupid school board she can help seat. Then, because of their ignorance and lack of knowledge, she can run things without hinderance. Nine people with no balls, no backbone and no brains would greatly please her. An added quality she likes is when the board really believes they know what they are doing.
That is why Weber and Grispon aren't around. They had balls, brains and backbones.
