Okay so we ordered "Brain Training" from play.com They sent us "Brain Age".  Our invoice even says Brain Training.  So yeah, basically they sent the US version when we ordered the UK version.   Different cover, different name...but it's still the same game...is it?
I confess I don't know a whole lot about the game so don't know if this applies but I don't want it calling me a 'tard for spelling it Colour when they say it's color.  You get me...what's the difference between the versions, if any?
I just want to know if it's worth contacting them and trying to get it changed but what with christmas being rather close, it may not be worth it.
It's frustrating because we almost ordered it from VGplus but made a point of going with Play in case there were any americanisms in the US version, an dthen they sent the US one anyway.  ****ers.

The UK one allegedly recognises the word "blue" better. Maybe. Still ****ing hard to answer sums out loud and get it to recognise.

Currencies are different too I beleive. Basically you'll be complaining to Play out of principle rather than function. Still worth firing an angry email off though, IMO.

you never have to spell anything anyway, except for the word list excercise, but none of them that i have come across have suffered americanisation.

Shak has fallen from outer space.  Launch them back to defend the planet and maintain peace!!!
Currencies is also something that would annoy me.  OJ said something about metric vs imperial system as well.  When we actually decided to buy UK rather than US for that very reason.
I cba to fire off angry emails but I did fill out their return thingy, and I just want a refund, and Amazon is the same price and so i've ordered it from them as I don't want to faff about with play and chance them saying "OKAY WE'LL SEND A UK ONE" and then sending another US one in the post.

Currencies?  Weights?  There's none of that in Brain Training is there?

I don't know!  Shak said currencies.
OJ said something about metric.  I confess I don't really know what you actually *do* in brain training, just heard that it was fun or something :P

Money stuff is in Big Brain Academy

"[ste parker]" imagi...@hotmail.com

I think it's probably Big Brain Academy that's more fun of the two, but I've only got Brain Training so couldn't say definitively.  BT is interesting while it lasts, but could have done with more content.

At which point I should really say that I have neither Training or Academy.
I've played both though, and I'm certain one of them has you pick the larger amounts or something.

It may do, but I agree with Tim, it is better using the currency and coins you are used to dealing with, especially if you have it for the kids to use.

"erics" eric_NewsG...@SpaMreplytonewsgroupTraP.com

Currency related questions are in Brain Academy, don't think they are in brain training.

"erics" eric_NewsG...@SpaMreplytonewsgroupTraP.com

I'd agree with that.

But that takes thinking, particularly with the odd sizing American silver coins are (25 biggest, then 5, then 10). I go over twice as fast in UK coinage than Euro, myself. It's all about trained pattern recognition.

Found that saying 'true' instead increased accurancy on the US version.
Which is annoying...

Duuur. Scuse me.
I came back from America with Brain Age, and had a hell of a time on the coinage. I swapped that with a friend for BBA, and I don't think I'd ever actually looked at the Euros after all. I just did, and now I see what you mean.
I'm still better at the UK coinage though!

On the top screen, there are pictures of the coins and the equivalent values.  These values are not shown on the coins on the bottom screen.
Instead, you are expected to know what each coin represents in order to perform the task quickly.
