According to a study recently published in The Lancet, sexual promiscuity is NOT a major contributor to sex-related health problems in the world. The study showed that the three main factors are poverty, social mobility and gender inequality. Here's the link: http://www.webmd.com/content/article/129/117331.htm Some of the findings are: * While there is no major trend toward earlier sexual experience, a trend toward later marriage has led to an increase in premarital sex.
* Married people have more sex than unmarried people do.
* Sexual activity among single people is more common in industrialized countries than in developing countries.
* Monogamy is the dominant pattern in most parts of the world.
Men report more multiple partnerships than do women. Such men are more likely to live in developed nations.
* Marriage is no safeguard of sexual health. It is more difficult for married women to negotiate safe sex and condom use than it is for single women.
* School-based sexual education delays and does not hasten onset of sexual activity.
And here's the authors' conclusion: "The selection of public-health messages needs to be guided by epidemiological evidence rather than myths and moral stances. The greatest challenge to sexual-health promotion in almost all countries comes from opposition from conservative forces to harm-reduction strategies." I can smell the flame throwers warming up from here.

Either the women in those areas are lying about how many partners they have or there's a relatively small number of sluts who are screwing a large number of men. Probably a combination of the two.
Who said it was? The number and type of partners BEFORE marriage would determine sexual health, as it pertains to communicable diseases between married partners.
That's to be expected. "I married you, woman. Why should I have to use a raincoat?" It's the lack of shame and responsibility being taught that hastens sexual activity. Thanks a condom load for teaching our children such shameless irresponsibility, liberal-run public schools.

What you call "facts" are nothing more than a badly mismatched collection of strawmen and urban legends. You plainly haven't read the article I linked to, don't know what the **** you are talking about, and don't really care. And when you spout ridiculous statements like "If poverty did in fact trigger sex ...", you forfeit any expectation of a serious response. Why should I lift a finger to refute your patent nonsense?

Here are the FACTS : In the 1960's you had Syphilis and later Gonnoreah which were fairly easy to treat with Penacillin ; as the out of control sex saturated culture began to escalate , by year 2005 you now have over 33 STD's of which 2 can rob you of your life if contracted : HIV leading to AIDS and HPV the precursor to Cervical Cancer in women. SOme of the STD's today are permanent (such as Genital Herpes) and some are temporary (such as rash outbreak and several forms of Crabs). The 'savior' (the condom) is not a foolproof device to stop all of these STD's...least of all HIV/AIDS as the holes in a latex condom measure 5 microns in diameter while the deadly virus measures .5 microns in size. Best estimates according to the CDC , a government institution, is that, there are over 40,000,000 adult americans that are carrying at least one STD. It is quite obvious that AMerica likes its European neighbors, has a rampant and epidemic problem with moral decline which crosses over all lines of socio-economic status, place of origin, social mobility, race, and creed. America has exchanged its once high held judeo christian morals, ethics, and values for unrestrained Sexual Hedonism at any cost

This despicable lie again? HIV is not transmitted as isolated viral particles; it is transmitted inside *cells*, which are too large to p*** through the voids in latex condoms.
Several years ago, there was an article in the American Journal of Public Health about condom use in legal brothels in Nevada. It said that none of the prostitutes working in the brothels had been tested HIV-positive since condom use became mandatory in late 1980s.
