I am starting a new basenote addressing Ann's comment that the family is under attack. She has made the understatement of the decade, and anyone who tries to allege that such is not the case is completely out of touch with reality. Some have mentioned Focus on the Family, James Dobson's organization, and Promise Keepers as proof to the contrary. I first became aware of Promise Keepers several years ago when I heard a couple of guys on a Denver Christian FM station complaining that PK allowed suc ...

I was at my sons scout meeting the other day when a dad said that he was in the Navy for 19 years and his commander told them not to wear their uniforms out in public because of all the protests. People were fighting and spitting on anyone in uniform. A number of people were arrested when a protest about turned in to riot. I think that is horrendous. No matter how you feel about war no one should ever spit on our military.Where would be without them? now back to stitching does anyone know were t ...

Recalled that PAPy org's DPM Tony Tan made the most stupid remark after having a round table lunch with Walmart's big wigs in New York that DPM Tan came running back to tell Singaporeans that our wages were higher than those in America! Of course the Shit Times eat it up wholesale and regurgitated this piece of misguided information, making the whole PAPy org look like fools on the hill. First, one wonders how come in a land where garbage collectors in New York can earn an annual income of USD50 ...

Americans Lose Their Stature as Tallest Country Nourished by a bountiful food supply and free from scourges that plagued Europe , Americans quickly became the tallest people in the world. The colonists were about two inches taller than the British they defeated in the Revolutionary War, and Americans towered about three inches above the average Dutch and other Europeans by the 1850s. That trend prevailed for two centuries through both world wars as America's wealth and influence paralleled its dominant height around the globe.
But in a series of papers, including his most comprehensive work to date -- the June analysis of federal surveys conducted between 1959 and 2004 -- Komlos and others have shown that growth of the average American flagged beginning in the 1950s, allowing other countries to overtake the United States by the 1970s. Although Americans have resumed growing in the past few decades, the rate has not kept pace with other nations.

Milk is Disappearing From the Family Dinner Table Milk is Disappearing From the Family Dinner Table Sweetened Beverages May Be Edging Out Nutritious Drinks WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- As families gather back around the dinner table, what was once a staple of the meal -- milk -- might be hard to find. Over the past decade, milk at dinner has steadily declined and today nearly 60 percent of children's dinners do not include milk, according to new findings from The NPD Group.(1) Conversely, nearly one-third of all kids' meals are served with a soft drink or fruit drink -- beverages that are often ...
Taking Stock of the 2007 legislative session Any objective look at the final results must lead to the conclusion that, for all of the unavoidable nonsense that comes from forcing 170 elected officials to co-exist in tight quarters for six straight months, lawmakers passed a lot of good and important new laws. This performance was particularly impressive in light of the coincidence of a House speaker in his first term, a governor nearing the end of his second and a Senate president pro tem battling multiple family tragedies.
A second overriding conclusion is that while overall spending was up, this was neither inappropriate or, ultimately, out of proportion with what will be necessary in order to begin to move a rapidly growing state to the place of widely shared prosperity to which it should aspire. With better targeting, improved efficiency and better distribution of the responsibility for funding government, North Carolina is well positioned to continue to expand public services and investments that raise the quality of life.

The Role of Family Diversity in Teacher Education Family diversity education in teacher education might also address the law or legal tenet from a democratic rights purview. Individual families have the right to separate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, so long as that separate pursuit does not encroach upon the democratic rights of others. Through family diversity education, we might help pre-service teachers cope with the rules and norms that govern political correctness and provide a platform from which we may argue for a democratic ideal to ensure that minority family ...
Reasonableness relates to our ability to be open to new ideas, new experiences, and counter-evidence. When we are reasonable, pushes us to examine our own lived contradictions, and to accept change when our taken-for-granted actions, beliefs, values, and knowledge is challenged in a sound and substantial fashion. A strong and complete education of diverse families provides fertile ground for teachers and administrators to cultivate the knowledge from which reasonableness feeds. Reasonableness can take us from what I have come to describe as malignant ignorant resistance to what I conceptualize as critical conscientious resistance that is conducive to upholding the law, ...
Taking a closer look at macroevolution I would like to make the point that macroevolution, or Darwinism, or Neo-Darwinism, or whatever you call it, did not begin in a scientific manner. I truly do not believe that scientists with no idealogical point of view would ever have conceived of macroevolution at all. They would have accepted that God, whoever or whatever He is, Created and unless a way was found to prove or disprove the existence of said God, gone on their way. I believe a great deal of effort to prove macroevolution and study same is terribly wasted. Great talent is misused. Science ...
