Yes. This article reports a study which supports the position I have maintained for over 15 years.

Remember this is cross-posted to alt.support.attn-deficit too: I for one was told to take the Ritalin and that was *it*. The neuro-psychologist's advice was completely ignored.

*Prove it?* Haven't you read anything Mark's written about proper diagnosis and treatment of ADHD? He's been advocating a combined approach since before I subscribed to ASAD.

While Jan Drew did not say this in so many words, it seems to be something that she has implied all along in her mindless and relentless anti-medication crusade.
Of course, that is only my opinion, which is based on reading thousands of her anti-medication posts.
"Mark Probert" Mark Prob...@lumbercartel.com
Find the study and read it for yourself.
As for my position, I have ALWAYS maintained that pharmacotherapy and therapy (as needed by the patient and/or family) is an absolutely necessary component to an overall treatment plan.
"Mark Probert" Mark Prob...@lumbercartel.com
Vashti, demanding proof as Jan has done is one of her feeble tactics to discredit anyone whom posts a valid argument against her bullshit. It is old news.
In my response to her, I merely restated what my position is. When she reads that, she will undoubtedly call me a liar.

Wait a minute Mark!
Aren't you playing both sides of the fence here?
Claiming that self-evident ***ertions are sufficient when they satisfy you.
Dismissing arguments that lack substatianting evidence becuase they lack reasoned pursuasiveness.
Without doubt, you are a most skilled debater!
"Mark Probert" Mark Prob...@lumbercartel.com
Tick...tock....
Nope. And, do not accuse me of fence sitting. I deny it.
I am claiming that my personal opinion is UNCHANGED for years. I base that opinion on copious reading and personal experience.
Arguments that lack that should be dismissed.
Nah. I could not make first string on my HS debating team, which was national champ.
"Raving Loonie" raving.loo...@gmail.com
Watch it buster!
You never fence sit. ... nor do you wait.
Yes, you have clarified in a different manner. It breaks up the symmetry in a meaningful way.
It all depends on what a person considers to be reasonably persuasive.
It is somewhat subjective.
Do you agree with a universal dismissal?
You must have been furious or envious?
I bet that you sure as heck have improved since those early days.

Neither. I tried to argue my way onto the travel team, but I couldn't.
Several of the team turned out to be leaders of the anti-war movement of the late 1960's. THEY could argue.
So has my 'competition'.

It is purely logical that if a patient is being helped by non-pharmacotherapy interventions, then they would need lower medication doses. This is absolutely consistent with my long held position.

You posted on three newsgroups, for a response from only Mark email would be more appropriate. As it's publicly posted it's open to a response from anyone inclined to do so.
Why is that if you have such strong opinions on the treatment of ADHD?
Besides, you're posting here in this thread(I'm reading this on ASAD), it's an appropriate place to discuss all issues surrounding ADHD.
I'm sure he can however if you'd paid better attention to his posts on MHA then you would have seen this same position of Mark's... he's not exactly been shy about sharing his opinion on the treatment or correct diagnosis of ADHD there either, has he?
