"Among the most common drugs used for date rape include MDMA, GHB, Ketamine and LSD ... These are the drugs most often ***ociated with date rape crime."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
SPPD offers guide for parents on so-called date rape drugs By Peggy Kelly Santa Paula News Published on: March 07, 2003 By Peggy Kelly Santa Paula Times Violent crime in selected areas of the county is on the rise for the first time in a decade, according to a recent county newspaper article that released statistics for those areas patrolled by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
"This is for the most part due to the so-called date rape drugs," said SPPD Cmdr. Mark Trimble.
The North 10th Street Santa Paula Police Station is offering a free guide on those drugs most commonly used to commit rape.
Cmdr. Trimble said the SPPD hopes that the list of drugs "will ***ist concerned parents of the teenagers of Santa Paula," in learning about date rape drugs and help them to warn their children about such drugs.
Among the most common drugs used for date rape include MDMA, GHB, Ketamine and LSD; the drugs also carry a variety of nicknames.
"These are the drugs most often ***ociated with date rape crime," said Cmdr. Trimble.
Date rape became a national issue with the arrest of Andrew Luster, a Ventura County resident who was recently convicted on over 80 counts of raping and poisoning women with date rape drugs. Luster, who fled and was convicted in absentia, had video taped the rapes.
Victims of date rape using drugs often have no memory of the event and are unable to fight off the attacker as the drugs used often render them semi- or completely unconscious.
Date rape drugs are tasteless and are often concealed in liquid, such as soft drinks or liquor. People can be allergic to the drugs and overdoses are a possibility.
The fear of date rape has caused many people not to accept drinks from others they don't know well and not to leave their gl***es unattended while out in public; Luster met several of his victims in nightclubs.
If you would like more information on date rape drugs, visit front counter of the Santa Paula Police Station on North 10th Street.

The sad thing is, he probably really believes it. The Drug Enforcement Agency has been on a campeign for some time now to ***ociate 'club drugs' with 'rape drugs'...take a look at their site (dea.gov). Yes, it's safe to go there, and they actually have some amusing info if you dig deeply enough.

1. That's more likely this particular cop not knowing what the **** he's talking about.
2. If there was heroin in E, they'd jump all over it, talking about how much more dangerous E is than we thought. I mean, there's HEROIN in it, and people KNOW that's bad...

If there was heroin in E, wouldn't they want everyone to know about it to make E look worse? Hell if I was them I'd say there was heroin in E even if there wasn't, just cuz to make E's terrible rep. look even worse by adding the rep. of heroin to it..........

So would I, but then again I would be doing it for reverse psychology.
The DEA actually wants E to remain illegal.

If the DEA thought covering up that E is sold with adulterants would help keep it illegal, then they'd also be covering up DXM in E, which they aren't. Unlike E pills with H, E pills with DXM really do harm people.

Heroin-E may not be all that harmful, but people should still know the truth, instead of having their delusions fed. Some people really believe that there isn't heroin in E, and it's wrong to encourage naivety.

If heroin were added to E, this would be perfectly safe. Oral H isn't that potent, and there is no way that they could OD from it.

Joel joelc...@hotmail.com
That's only true if people use it responsibly. For people that take excessive E doses, heroin-E might be even more dangerous than pure E.

Not likely. To the extent that MDMA was being replaced with H, the E pill would become safer because oral H is a safer drug than MDMA. Please note that if H was being added to E this would be safe is not inconsistent with your hypothesis about there frequently being H in E. If it tended to kill, then this would be more likely to become public knowledge.

If MDMA neurotoxicity is increased per volume of effect by being laced with heroin, heroin-E would be more dangerous than pure E, even if not because of fatalities.

prolly the same danger from all the kids who swallow handfuls of microdots all the time. ;)

True, but it isn't known for sure if MDMA is neurotoxic to humans at all.

So long as you are careful and don't overdo it, this isn't necessarily dangerous. The biggest problem is for those people who have no clue they are getting DXM.

That is a risk all E users take. If it was seriously neurotoxic, we should be seeing more evidence of it. I'd guess if it happens, it would only be to real heavy users.
