Dual Language Program

(11 Messages)

I have enrolled my daughter in a public school that offers a Dual Language Spanish/English class. Half the class is native Spanish speakers and half is native English speakers. The children are taught from preK-2 in Spanish through out the day except for language arts, where they break into groups which is taught in their native language. In 3-4 grade they are then taught the whole day in English except language arts is taught in the second language. I did have some concerns before enrolling her ...

Dual language pages?

(11 Messages)

I'd like some pointers on how to do a multi-lingual site. Initially I will focus on an English + only 1 other language site. I am basically looking for the most efficient way of creating the pages. An option I am willing to consider is a way of doing it so that there is really just one set of pages that can be switched on the fly from English to the other language by simply changing a URL-passed variable. I have a working version using Javascript to store the 2 versions of each string but, since ...

Design of dual-language or multi-language sites

(25 Messages)

I'm in the process of designing my first site which will start as dual-language and may in future expand to three languages. I'm trying to get the basic concepts sorted out before I go too far down the coding/mark-up path and then find that I have to re-do everything. I'm surprised that there seems to be very little material about this aspect. Consequently the design of sites which offer multiple languages seems rather simplistic. Either there is an entry point screen which welcomes you in sever ...

Dual Language Pre-K Class

(9 Messages)

I am interested in getting others opinions on our situation. Or even more helpful if any one has first hand experience. Alexis has been going to a private school for 3-K TWTH 8:30-12. We now have the option of sending her to the local public school for 4-K. They are offering a Dual Language class (Spanish/English). I am considering sending her to this class because I think it would be wonderful for her to have the exposure to the language. I am however concerned that she may miss some concepts e ...

Amazoncom AttentionDeficit Hyperactivity Disorder A Handbook forAmazon.com: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Handbook for Editorial Reviews Review "This edition of Barkley's widely-read Handbook picks up where previous editions left off: It is thoroughly referenced, up-to-date, authoritative, and most informative. It is the "launching pad" from which parents, clinicians, and researchers can come to know the field. Among its noteworthy features are renewed attention to developmental factors in assessment and diagnosis, technical but clear information on etiology, expanded coverage of life-span issues related to ADHD, and clear reviews of evidence for impairment across multiple domains of functioning. Bold, rich, and at times ...

Inside This Book ( learn more ) First Sentence: Although one of the first references to a hyperactive or ADHD child (Fidgety Phil) seems to have been in the poems of the German physician Heinrich Hoffman in 1865, credit is typically awarded to George Still and Alfred Tredgold as being the first authors to focus serious scientific attention on the behavioral condition in children that most closely approximates what is today known as ADHD. Sepracor Q2 2007 Earnings Call TranscriptSepracor Q2 2007 Earnings Call Transcript Good morning everyone. Various remarks that we make about our future expectations, plans, and prospects constitute forward-looking statements for purposes of the SEC Safe Harbor provision. Actual results may differ materially from those indicated by these forward-looking statements, as a result of various important factors which are discussed in our most recent quarterly report on Form 10-Q, which is on file with the SEC and other reports that we file with the SEC.

Thank you Jonae. I would like to start by saying that this past quarter was indeed a challenging one for Sepracor. However, as we transition to the next phase of our company development we have begun to make productive strides in our overall corporate strategy. A strategy focused on more fully leveraging our product franchises, creating a deeper research and development pipeline of assets, and aggressively pursuing and securing successful corporate development on license and opportunities, this is our evolving plan for success.
