Well, Comcast and I finally came to an understanding. Actually, I just gave in a networked my PC onto the cable modem. They said "Mac connectivity and usability isn't a high priority." Grrrrrrrr Anyway, you know about Amanda, so here are the rest of the updates.
Micah has a diagnosis finally - three actually. He has migraines, major depression, and adjustment disorder. The depression was probably started by his Acutane therapy, the migraines are genetic (from Wendy this time, not me), and the adjustment disorder flows from the other two.
Micah admitted in therapy that he had been "embelishing" his symptoms and episodes. He was p***ing out, but not staying out, and since hge got a lot of attention, some were not real at all. He admitted that his goal was to force us back to Utah.
So, he is finally up to a therapeutic dose on Effexor and he is making progress in therapy. We will be meeting with the school soon to work out a plan for getting him off Home & Hospital and back into his regular school. There is still a lot of work, but he's turned the corner.
There is also news on Wendy. She has accepted a faculty appointment at Gaulladet University in Washington DC. I think (hope) that this will be a good move for her. There are a lot of positives, including more than sufficient funding. The only real negatives are that it is a long commute and we have to go on Federal insurance. Our out-of-pocket expenses are going to rise to 5 or 6 times what they are now. Now all we have to do is find a new job for me, pay our bills down, get out of this tiny apartment, and get Amanda and Micah to eat properly. Hey, piece of cake!
Oh, and yes, I'm doing OK. I couldn't sit in my recliner this morning because my hips hurt too much, but it's nothing a few pain pills can't handle. I'm glad to be back! Now, tell me what's been going on.

Walt-My dear friend, It must be a relief to finally have some answers! And I am glad that what ails Micah, can be dealt with. You and your whole family have been on my mind for a long while. I feel now, that perhaps I dont have to worry about you ALL the time. But know that you and yours will remain in my prayers. Welcome back!!!

wow, walt, what a lot of news! i'm glad -- very glad -- to hear you're getting to the bottom of things with micah. poor kid. i hope he has someone great working with him on the psychological side. and i'm so glad wendy got the job at gallaudet which will keep you in the area. (perhaps her commute would be easier if you moved to northern virginia? only joking...) i am so looking forward to meeting you two at the gimpfest.
take care, diane

We are glad you are back and relieved that Micah and Amanda are doing better. Congrats to Wendy on the new job. Donna H has had a rough go, she just lost her brother to cancer. Patty is our new Remicade rowdy and Mary will be one soon. I think Duckie has abandoned us. We have had a few forgettable flame wars as of late, but no need to go into those. Welcome back! -- MZ

Whew!! Big hugs to all four of you! Ya know - DCHAM might be on to something. Since Wendy's job is down here, why don't you look for a job down here and then you could all get a place to live down here and then.....
Let me know if the Taggart family can help.

Walt, it is so good to hear from you. I've been hoping for a good outcome for you and your family and it sounds as though things are beginning to come together. Still a bit of rough road ahead, but having answers to Micah's and Amanda's problems is a huge relief in itself.
Best wishes for continued improvement on all fronts. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Welcome home, Walt! You were missed. We have been sitting by the warm flames of noname juice vendors. (I keep forgetting to zap their noname from the subject line before hitting send... maybe typing this will help me to remember) Sounds very promising on all fronts for you. Just have to get that body of yours to cooperate for a change. My hip has been hurting today too, so I understand what you are feeling.
Gee, maybe I need to up the mtx back again. <sigh> tried lowering it last week, as my rheumy wants me to, but hurting now. Oh well, on we go...
