Right, look. Let me make my position quite clear on this; I deeply regret the death of the Queen Mother. To me, the loss of her is the loss of a unique and irreplaceable part of that which I hold most dear -
Britain, the most beautiful and wonderful country on God's green earth.
However.
This protracted, mawkish raking over of the occurrence again and again and again by the media - what does it achieve? The queen Mother is dead.
The situation isn't going to alter one bit, no matter how many new and inventive angles you try to view it from.
For God's sake why don't you act with some dignity, just this once?

What we didn't get is a BBC report with Jenny (no knickers) Bond with one of her live reports. "This is Jenny Bond, live outside the Pearly Gates."

The sad news of her death was bandied about on all the TV channels. What I find so disgraceful is way the public seems to think they have a right to information from the medical records of close relatives of our leaders.
QVC, the television channel much-loved by Mark, closed down. Shop! Did the same, but they're scheduled to close anyway and have been getting rid of all their rubbish for the past week.

You're suggesting she's still alive?
She was 11 when the Titantic sank, and she still remembers it.

She confessed on some sort of Richard and Judy show recently, that she did a Bridget Jones climb up to a catwalk to cover a royal event and realised that her own royal event was uncovered because she had forgotten to don her knickers. I find it hard to believe. Is it really possible for a woman to forget to wear knickers?

Are they back on today?
I find it amazing that an American company which is *totally* profit orientated should do such a thing. I'd respect them closing for the death of an American President or such like, but that I find 'odd'.

A lot of women don't wear knickers as a rule, so it isn't so extraordinary that she'd forget to put them on prior to an activity where wearing knickers might actually be, er, expected.

Well, a female work colleague of mine claims to have done just that after a particularly heavy night drinking session. She realised after a while when she also realised that the dress she was wearing was vaguely see-through. Luckily, she was on surveillance (watching people get off flights to spot undocumented arrivals) and so could hide at the piers Unluckily, one of the top bods from the department was visiting that day and came out to the piers to see the surveillance operation. She said that she spent the time talking to him trying to find some convenient shadow to hide in and trying to keep her lovely fluorescent yellow jacket we have to wear tied up and held down to 'hide the evidence'...
Apparently, the top bod talked to her for some time and always asks after her when he visits now :) I'd have to therefore conclude that, yes, women can forget to wear knickers as she's not the type to just make that story up.

If the public want a soap opera and the media are happy to give them one then it's only to be expected I suppose.

Quite.
The whole thing just bears out my theory that one should always order pudding first, in case ones last breath is drawn before it is served.
What a tragedy this is.  She might not have eaten all her Easter Eggs, virtuously saving them all for Easter Day!   Then again, she was a Party Girl Extraordinaire, and prolly ate them as soon as they arrived.   Whatever, the press have a duty to tell us!
