charitable donations

(25 Messages)

Since we're talking about donating our tax rebates to charity, I thought I'd ask here: for those of you who do give to charity, how on earth do you decide who to donate to??? We get *tons* of "please send us money" charity mail, and frankly, most of it gets tossed in the trash. I don't like being solicited for things like that; besides, it seems to me that if they spent their money on orphans or whatever they're soliticiting for, rather than on mass mailings, they'd have more money to ...

Non-cash Charitable Donations

(8 Messages)

I am new to Quickbooks. I am a computer consultant and do quite a bit of work for the American Red Cross. I am currently working on a major project that will end up being several weeks of work. I need to find out how to bill the Red Cross as a charitable non-cash donation. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Central Valley Football LeagueCentral Valley Football League Building Community Relationships The CVFL prides itself on creating maintaining relationships with the local community and working with kids. The following are some of the major accomplishments that the CVFL have made in its first season in existance. Our plan for 2008 to gain enough sponsorships to allow us to further excel in this area through charitable donations and community events.

In 2008, the CVFL is pleased to announce the addition of a youth football league that will create a mentorship between CVFL teams and its community youth. The goal of the partnership is to help fight the street gang epidemic that is sweeping the Central Valley. Because participation in organized sports is one of biggest deterrent for juvenile delinquency, it is important to keep these youth interested and involved throughout their childhood and adolescence. Often times youth who may not have the talent or the means to play at the top level become discouraged from playing organized football. ...

Saudi ArabiaSaudi Arabia The Economist, 5 January 2006 The National Commercial Bank, the kingdom's oldest and biggest, is running an advertising campaign. One slick television spot features a smiling young woman showing her delighted father how to settle bills by direct debit. The same ad could have run anywhere (though perhaps without the headscarf for the dutiful daughter). But in a country where until a few years ago women did not appear on TV at all, and until the 1960s did not even go to school, there is a subversive significance to suggesting that a woman can be more savvy than a man, and that the old can learn from ...

The Economist, 5 January 2006 Until two years ago, Saudi religious textbooks suggested that a good way to show love for God was to treat infidels with contempt. Students learned that communism, secularism and capitalism were forms of apostasy. Inventors and those who call themselves scientists, they read, were nothing of the kind because their so-called science was limited to worldly matters. The only true men of science were those who knew God and feared Him. Passages such as these have since been purged, as part ...
