In 1999, approximately 2.5 million arrests were made of persons under the age of eighteen. The United States does not need violent offenders wandering the streets once they turn eighteen and are released from prison. Also, a juvenile's record should be open to the public. When juveniles turn eighteen, most re-enter the world with a clear record. The public has no recognition of a juvenile's previous felonies and crimes. Also, early and stricter intervention needs to take place. Trials need to occur as soon as possible after the first crime is committed and juveniles should be put in therapy at the first sign of acting out.
Murders, robberies and violent ***aults are adult acts that are being committed by teenagers, but unfortunately these teens are not receiving the adult punishment they deserve. A fourteen-year-old who shot three people in the same day in the District of Columbia only served 26 months in juvenile detention. The United States needs to be stricter in sentencing juvenile delinquents when they commit seriously violent crimes.
If America is so worried about the future of its youth, then discipline needs to be brought back into the juvenile justice system.
A juvenile who commits an adult act can be tried as an adult and this can be done by lowering the adult age for violent crimes. These violent juveniles will learn through tough love and discipline that the crimes they committed were serious and they will be forced to pay the consequences for their actions.

No, they don't learn anything from bullshit "toughlove", and since you clearly used that phrase without ANY understanding of what it means, it is clear that you're an unversed little dilletante about this stuff.
It isn't "toughlove" that vicious felony offenders need, it is a fair society. In fair societies this shit never ever happens. How do I KNOW this? Simple, I DEFINE "fair" THAT WAY!! If you and I don't want to rob and kill other people, it IS FOR A REASON!!!! It is simply because of our opportunities and upbringing, in other words, something we can't help at all!!
These offenders aren't somehow magically (or racially) "different" from us!! They're the same as we would be if WE were in a niche in society which gave us no hope for our lives, that failed to educate us, and which placed our parents in such bad straits economically that they never had time for us, seldom felt sufficient self-esteem to even be able to inspire us, and who looked like clowns to us, suckers who simply accepted getting shafted by the race or group in power and were consistently humiliated in quite literally every aspect of their lives!
At the root of all this is economic inequity, plain and simple! Why just money? Because it is all circular! You don't have opportunity for education because you have no money, you command no response by candidates, you have no wealth in your community to buy or attract teaching skill, to build or staff sufficient schools. You have no industry owned by those of your group.
You have no self-esteem and everything slips through your fingers because you have no jobs, schools, education, capital, etc. All this is a vicious circle that comes from not receiving equal property and pay with the rest of the society.
Since the people from whom felonious crime emerges ARE NOT DIFFERENT THAN WE ARE, the ONLY cause is MONEY!! ANY other ***ertion of OTHER causes would be tantamount to saying that THESE people are somehow different (inferior) to the rest of us, and THAT'S NOTHING BUT RACISM!! If you forcibly, through the power of money, bring everyone up to the level of the average American wealth, and if you eliminate the wealth of the wealthy to do this, and if you then provide them with the property they presumptively would have had if they had never been enslaved or disadvantaged racially, and if you educate them TILL SUCCESS is achieved and they learn the SAME variety of skills that the rest of us have, and if you provide them with businesses and jobs that pay the same as ours do, then they will have NO MORE CRIME THAN WE DO!!
This is the principle of reparation for slavery!! It works fine with the supposed normal "criminal element" as well, since we've never found a genetic component to the felonious under-achiever. Your wealthy families have as many deadbeats in them as any other group. Some wealth deadbeats remain wealthy accidentally, because it's actually quite hard to spend away a suffuciently large m*** of wealthi, it keeps accruing interest! And also, what do you call a guy who doesn't work, lays around, drinks too much wine, does drugs, never finished school, and has 20 million dollars? RICH!!!!
You CALL HIM RICH!! Being a deadbeat only becomes a problem for a person WHEN HE'S POOR!! People ALWAYS forget that!!!!! Poverty makes problems drastic. Wealth makes them innocuous!
So all we have to do to get rid of crime for all time is to bring the poor of our society up to the level of the rest of us, econimically and educationally, and property-ownership-wise and it will go away!!!
How do I know this? Simple, it's what WE have and WE don't want to rob and kill others!!! That's PROOF!!!
Try it with JUST TEN FAMILIES and you will PROVE to yourself that it works!! Shit, the government can do that experiment for only ten million dollars! That's about what a decent education and a decent home of their own costs for the average family with young teens. Even if it takes a while to correct the damage done to people's lives, it WILL WORK!
Of course the reason our society DOESN'T do that is simply the greed of the rich wanting to keep all that they have stolen from the poor, but that greed and that misdistribution of property and wealth is what causes all the crime and horror that we see among the poor.
If after you fix society you STILL have a few young people who want to rob and kill people, simply torture them with knives and hot branding irons in front of everyone in their neighborhood, and then shoot them through the head without even a trial, and leave them for the garbage!
But till you fix society by correcting inequity you're not going to really even knowm exactly WHO the bad people REALLY are!: Who the REAL thieves are, and who is just trying to recover stolen property!!!

I *really* hope that everyone realizes that adequacy is nothing but a home for the trolls of slashdot.org and this particular article is just parody.
In particular, how did you happen across this site? It's not normally known outside the geek crowd, and it's mostly ignored by them.

If Adequacy has such a polcy then how did that article ever get posted? The trolls may not participate in the Adequacy discussions but they sure as hell write the articles.
