Update: School shooting in San Diego

MSNBC is reporting 10 injured and one confirmed death. Oops, wait, no they are NOT confirming it. One injured was listed as critical, however. One gunman, in custody and HE TOLD PEOPLE (adults and kids) THAT HE WAS GOING TO DO IT. They thought he was joking and did not tell anyone else but they did talk to him sternly. Duh.

Hello--we are facing this year an admin. who have silenced our voices-- staff meetings we have no input to agenda--emails go unanswered--like a dictatorship--anyone have the same experince suggestions on why this may be happening and perhaps things to do to deal with--thanks. ps--perhaps it is just their fear and egos getting in the way of us, the staff, being treated as adult professionals. New program to help parents of students stay connectedNew program to help parents of students stay connected Given the increasing desire for parental connection to their son or daughter’s college experience and more students wanting their parents involved, UW-Madison is launching a major upgrade of its communication efforts and support services for parents. The new UW-Madison Parent Program, which debuts this summer, will take more active steps to keep parents informed about key college milestones and provide bulletins on urgent campus issues and a central point of contact for existing parent services.

Parents serve key roles as mentors and coaches, but need to understand “when to step in and when to step back” to support their child’s development.
