Dear Friends: This is hard to believe, but this comes from a secular source. Even the "new agers" out there know something is wrong with extreme sports behaviours, such as mountain biking. It is uncanny that this site almost sounds -- "Christian". Take care. A friend. "* Emotional Lust - Extreme Sports: Most who routinely engage in "extreme sports" have a very hard time believing that they too are drug addicts. Physically, they are addicted to the adrenaline ru ...

No, not what you are thinking :-) I happened to catch the World Xbox FIFA Championship on the Extreme Sports channel the other night, and my thoughts were largely twofold: 1. It is interesting to note that international level videogaming competitions are getting increasing levels of medai exposure these days. What with that Halo 2 clan getting signed for a $1,000,000 dollar contract a couple of months ago by the IGL (?) and an individual within that clan, getting a further $250K contract to play ...

Reality TV Magazine: Brat Camp Almost Christmas on Brat Camp "Episode 106" - It's almost Christmas, and the first 40 days are drawing to a close. The question on everyone's mind is: Who's going to make it home in time for the holidays, and who will be left behind? Fights break out among some of the students who are cracking under the pressure, while others open up like never before in the very emotional Empty Chair Exercise. In the end, it's time for several students to reunite with their parents, on " Brat Camp ," WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Kids Face Fears on Brat Camp "Episode 104" - Haunted by her traumatic past, Lexie must face her fears on a treacherous rappel down a huge cliff, while Lauren deals with intense emotions on the anniversary of her father's death. And after Nick admits to his learning disabilities, Little Bear tries to help him find the confidence necessary to master the art of primitive fire-making, on "Brat Camp," WEDNESDAY, JULY 27 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
TELEVISION; Brat Camp ' walks with troubled families Milwaukee To call these kids "brats" understates both their problems and the chaos they bring to the lives around them. But, despite its flippant name, "Brat Camp," a new reality series about a program in which Derek, Lexie, Lauren and six others like them are enrolled, is a serious look at some troubled families and the extreme measures they've taken to, as they inevitably put it, get their children back.
It's unfortunate that producers Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner Shapiro made the granddaddy of all troubled-teen documentaries, "Scared Straight," in 1978 are so partial to melodramatic music and mini-cliffhangers before each commercial break. Finding out whether SageWalk will help 14-year-old Nick control his rage or get 15-year-old Jada to start telling the truth would be suspenseful enough without the cheap tricks.
USATODAY.com - Fame undermines therapy in reality TV's ' Brat Camp ' The subject matter and the form are at painful odds with one another. While watching, I wanted to place a big private sign across my TV set. Yet the voyeuristic appeal is unmistakable. It is fascinating to observe how SageWalk's staff approaches these kids and is attuned to their emotions and needs. The program includes hiking, camping and group therapy. These professionals — counselors and therapists who have been involved with SageWalk for years — do not seem intent upon fame. Regardless, Brat Camp projects a strange mixture of sensationalism and promotion for SageWalk ...
Lancashire Evening Post - News - 'I slept under the stars and was This time last year, 15-year-old Lucy Tyson had been suspended from school three times, was known for her threatening behaviour and had run away from home countless times. After two years of this behaviour and with no sign of Lucy changing, her parents Rachael and Jeff finally reached the end of their tether and signed her up for the third series of Channel 4's Brat Camp. Lucy, from Hest Bank, near Lancaster, was sent to a single-sex wilderness course at Aspen Achievement Academy in Utah with six other girls. There ...
