My big problem with the Jewish summer camps was that most of them have only 3 or 4 week sessions, nothing in the one or two week range. My daughter would love to go away for the whole summer, and probably will when she is older, as long as we can afford it. I've only checked with 2 camps so far, one in RI and one in CT. The one in RI had a "taster" session that was 2 weeks long (too long for this year), and the one in CT has a 1 week taster with the option of staying for the second wee ...

Have a 10 year old who has ADHD. He has never been away for long period of time from us. Looking for experiences of parents of children with ADHD who sent their children to summer camps & if they can share their good/bad experiences please... If your child did attend summer camp: Any recommendations? Thanks, worried mama :(

They have announced they want nazi/communist style summer camps here to foster team-building (dont they mean nation-building ...ed) qualities. I am against it naturally. I would bet Glynn, Brown, frogbucket , hognoxious , solon and Diversity are for it Chris X, Dirk , Paris , rifleman, ian bailey , robert henderson and blue are against it. abelard couldnt care less either way. am i right ?

I went to summer camp when I was growing up and I loved it. I went to a traditional roughing-it-outdoors camp most of the time and when I was older I went to a music camp a couple of times. Both were very positive experiences for me. I send my kids now, too, and they look forward to it all year. They're worried that when we move next summer they won't get to go to camp, but we'll manage it somehow.
