The Biggest Loser - US (or Aussie)

(6 Messages)

While I don't agree with the "painful" aspects of the ultra hard training and I reserve my happiness of weight lost by the contestants with wondering if they follow up people from the show to see if they maintain, I am hopelessly addicted to this show. We only had our first biggest loser show last year in Australia, and as far as I can tell, the jury is out on who is maintaining well for the Aussie contestants. Do you guys watch it? If so what do you think? Please no spoilers about thi ...

the biggest loser

I caught a few minutes of "the biggest loser", and from what i gathered, there was a couple who were trying to get in shape. The husband went to a bike shop (in Portland OR) and bought himself a road bike- it was obviously a specialized even though they blurred out the name (the logo was still visible on the stem). Then, the wife is all depressed because now she works out alone. The guy is talking about how he wants to get in shape... in the meantime, there he is riding his bike, no gl ...

Biggest Loser Observation

Watched the 9th episode last night. Jeff (the Doc) has lost an astounding 100 lbs in 9 weeks. This is a tad over 11lbs per week or 1.58 lbs per day. This basically amounts to 5700 Cal. deficit per day. The first week or two I can see the weightloss being mostly water, but this large amount of loss is simply incredible. And this rate of loss is not an anomaly. Matt has lost 85 lbs in 8 weeks, or 10.62 lbs per week. For the 9th episode he won immunity. He gained 12 lbs that he claims is part of a ...

The Biggest LoserThe Biggest Loser So in The Biggest Loser few days ago, I was surprised to see that the contestants are faulting on their weight loss. Some of their weight loss has slowed down or even stopped. However, some still do keep losing weight. In the first rewards competition, one person from each team had to walk up and down a flight of stairs ten times. The stairs were really long. It must have been equivalent to 6 stories high. Mark and Andrea competed and Andrea came out on top.

Holy crap I didn39t know there were so manyHoly crap! I didn't know there were so many! I just went through the entire list one at a time and the only programme I've ever seen is "America's Most Wanted", and if there's another show of that name other than the one hosted by John Walsh, then I haven't even watched that one. I only hope I live to see this trend become one that is in the past. Almost all of them are staged, scripted and rehearsed. There are a lot of former participants that have said how little of it is actually real in any way. Bottom line is that reality shows are cheap to produce. ...

National Ratings in Primetime Week of Aug 1 2005 CBS DominatesNational Ratings in Primetime - Week of Aug. 1, 2005: CBS Dominates Of positive note this week was the season-finale of Fox's just renewed Hell's Kitchen, which tied a repeat of CSI in rating for first overall among adults 18-49. Although reality is everywhere, four of the five most-watched shows this week were repeats of scripted dramas. In reality series-premiere news, NBC's Meet Mr. Mom was left at the starting gate, with a mere 4.50 million viewers and a 1.6/ 5 among adults 18-49 in the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour. Comparatively, that ranked a distant third in the time period in both ...
