Hi, as a sufferer of OCD , I was wondering what films have the subject of OCD in it? The only one I can think of is As Good As it Gets. Thanks

You could also try Monk, which treats OCD as more of a comical thing.
In fact it's not that realistic, it's like comparing Andy Capp to a serious movie about alcoholism. Nevertheless I like the show.
And while they never diagnose him as such and the disorder wasn't named until many years later, I'm convinced Sherlock Holmes has OCD, namely Jeremy Brett's portrayal of him (which I think is closer to the stories than any other actor) in the Granada tv series.

I should think that a picture like Truffaut's "Story of Adele H." fits that category by implication, at least.

Adele H is about obsession, which isn't the same thing as obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Which was as inaccurate a portrait of OCD as it was of asthma.
There was some minor OCD in THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST.

So you wouldn't recommend that he watch "Obsession" and "Compulsion" back to back then? Perhaps if he did it five times with a different "Obsesssion" each time... (There are five or 6 movies called "Obsession"; the one from 1949 may be the best from what I can tell).

Motherless Brooklyn by a novel by Jonathan Lethem about a detective with Tourette's is currently being filmed with Edward Norton.

He said OCD, not Tourette's.

In the movie "Girl, Interrupted," Daisy had some definite symptoms of OCD as well as other problems. (Which is different from her characterization in the novel)

From what I have read, Tourette's is an extreme form of OCD.

I think you've read wrong. A psychiatrist gave me a book on OCD and it didn't mention Tourette's Syndrome.

I've worked with kids with both OCD and Tourette's. Sometimes a kid has both and other times they only exhibit symptoms of one or the other. I wouldn't consider Tourette's an extreme form of OCD, but I do think if a person has one, odds are they will have the other.
