extreme bloating of mdb with vba - how to reduce?

(6 Messages)

Greetings Group, I have a smallish mdb, about 40 mb. I have a table that I do some (I wouldn't say "a lot", but it's not trivial either) manipulations on. The table's about 150,000 records with about 25 columns. With VBA, I have several Subs. Each one opens the table with the openrecordset method and does its processing. The processing is mostly nested if/thens and assignments. Each sub is called sequentially, making sure to close the recordset before the next sub is called. The whole ...

Rx Prices

(25 Messages)

Regardless of what some might post, all is not sweetness and light concerning drug prices, and there IS considerable legislation in the works attempting to gain control of the situation. . The Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report of 3/12/02 reports that six states currently have bills pending to create approved formularies, add specific types of drugs to their existing formulary/preferred lists or adjust fees to pharmacists in attempts to control the ever-rising cost of prescriptions. And the New Y ...

Jeff Lee Vancouver Sun Friday, April 19, 2002 Premier Gordon Campbell has backed away from seeking advice from the architect of the largest takeover of public and private hospitals in the U.S. after learning the executive was at the heart of one of the largest health-care fraud cases in U.S. history. But critics say Campbell's invitation to Richard Scott to come to B.C. is an indication of the future of health care in the province. "I think the premier has been caught red-handed," said ...

Defibrillator program laudedDefibrillator program lauded Some of the residents from The Plantation at Leesburg, a retirement community, were honored for their Save-A-Life Program during the Aug. 7 Lake County Commission meeting. The program, started about seven years ago, has five automated external defibrillator devices -- small electronic devices designed to revive people in cardiac arrest by delivering a shock that restores a normal heart rhythm. When used with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the devices can keep victims alive until emergency crews arrive. The group purchased the AEDs ...

Robotic future of patient careRobotic future of patient care Robotics will be one of the answers for dealing with this dilemma. The sharing of skills, techniques and procedures across geographies, without the physical presence of the practitioner is now a reality. Sharing knowledge, supporting primary clinicians and enabling specialists by offering their skills instantly on a remote basis, will increase the quality of care throughout the world. The US is leading the way with pioneering techniques, but other developed countries, are poised to adopt robotics within their healthcare structures and are watching with an eager eye to take advantage of developments.

As the take-up of robotics gathers pace, other technological advancements are also serving as a catalyst to its uptake. As the most rapid technological development of the twenty-first century, the internet allows data and knowledge skills to be transferred instantly around the globe. This information superhighway has enabled remote communications in ways that we could not even fathom a decade ago. Teleconferencing using Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) technology and fast data transfer of patient records or statistics for analysis, complements the use of robotics during diagnosis or surgery. It is the ability ...

Little Panda Returns to MexicoLittle Panda Returns to Mexico So the Litte Panda's summer vacation comes to a conclusion. I sooooooo wanted to be on that plane with her today. I am homesick and I want to go home. She is in flight right now and it breaks my heart that I can't go home with her. School starts tomorrow and this was the latest she could stay in California before having to head home. I told the Little Panda that I would be there in Mexico this week, truth be told, my return has been delayed as I try and work out my medication cocktail and finish my time in day treatment.

However the classes repeat each week with the same topic and quite honestly, after covering the same topics over and over for 3 weeks, the Panda Pirate is like, "OK, I get it." I mean how many times can you cover a topic before you start to beat a dead horse? So my sense of urgency now lies in finding the right meds for me to take and function on. So far, Abilify seems to prove successful. I am keeping my panda paws crossed and hoping for the best.

Adapting to the United States might come with its own side effects. As Spanish speakers learn English, they also turn to illegal drug use, with English-speaking Latinos reporting illegal drug use at a rate 13 times higher than their Spanish-speaking peers, reports an Oregon State University sociologist who studied Washington residents. The pressures of immigrating can fuel an existing addiction or spark new substance abuse, Portland-area drug ...
