a. Have any of you folks out there or have any of the people you know got tested together with a potential sex partner before having sex?...
Tested for the standard sexually transmitted infections.
b. What was that experience like for them, or for you?...

Nope. But if I were seriously attracted to someone who suggested getting tested together, that would make me want them even more. I would be very impressed with the care and concern demonstrated by such an action.
drifter Drif...@telus.net
Well Donny, Everyone who is sexually active should be tested for STDS regardless of sexuality. The context, of course, is always in relation to what one considers sex and the degree of risk. Unfortunately, some sexually transmitted diseases are not curable or treatable regardless of sexuality.
The key is to use latex. The other reasons to use latex is that loved ones sometimes find themselves in situations that put themselves at risk and are too embarr***ed to tell their partners or define risk or monogamy differently than others. The experience for being tested for sexually transmitted diseases is no difference than most blood and culture tests. Unfortunately, the test is only good for a split second. So it is never about testing but it is always about safe sex. Unfortunately many men and women today, don't realize they are at risk for STDS because they have what appears to be a faithful partner. In spite of their monogamy, unbeknownst to them their partner may be using some drugs that puts them at risk or STDS.
Don Saklad dsak...@nestle.ai.mit.edu
Before sex potential partners getting tested together have the opportunity to find out about any sexually transmitted infections unknown previously. Without getting tested they don't have that opportunity. Treatment for the infections will prevent p***ing back and forth STDs. In one person there might be no symptoms.
P***ed along, the next person might get symptoms, get sick or die painfully. Having a sexually transmitted infections makes a person more vulnerable to other STDs like acquired immune deficiency syndrome human immunodeficiency virus.

I wouldn't normally follow up, but getting vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B takes at least several months---I think mine took six. That's quite a long time to go without nookie, when some sensible barrier use will have pretty much the same effect.

It's okay to decide to wait, if that's what you want to do after getting your test results together for the standard sexually transmitted infections. It's okay to decide not to have sex, if that's what you want to do after getting your test results together for the standard sexually transmitted infections.
Getting tested together first reduces ambiguity about a previously unknown period of time before sex. If an infection is detected, it would be useful information. Deciding to wait and get tested together again at a later time is okay too, if that's what one or both want to do.
You can choose, you can decide with the information test results provide that would not be known any other way.
Getting vaccinated together for hepatitis B hepatitis A can be done and condoms and safer sex practices can be used too.
Before sex getting tested together will give potential sex partners a more clear picture than they would have with no test results. The strategy reduces ambiguity.
There's no test for mutual fidelity. Detecting an infection previously unknown can prevent it being p***ed along unknowingly.
When an infection is detected, potential sex partners can choose, decide not to go ahead or to go ahead anyway whatever each wants to do. People can choose to have sex with an infected potential sex partner.
People can know beforehand and make that choice.
It's a choice when there's information that the strategy get tested together before sex gives you. Test results are information about each other not known before. It would be a good idea to take care of the infection first. It wouldn't be a good idea recommending going ahead if an infection is detected. With test results there is a choice that can not be a choice without test results.
Would you have sex with somebody you meet who tells you about an infection that could if you get it cause you to die a painful death?...

http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sie_and_hir My partner has a gender, but is also a bit androgynous. Myself having _very_ long hair (it's now down below my waist folks), and my partner looking sometimes extremely androgynous, it's made for some interesting double takes :-) Not at all. If I can talk about visiting a sexual health clinic, _and_ mention it's name, discussing gender-neutral pronouns is hardly personal.
