Drugs are not the only thing about which you and your children should talk. It is just as important to prepare them to resist the Leftist dogma to which they will also be exposed, as they enter the public school systems. Adolescent problems: tips for parenting difficult teens Most parents understand that adolescence defines a new era in the evolution of the family. Parents expect occasional mood swings, defiance of rules as well as the gravitation away from the family toward peers. However, parents grow concerned when certain behaviors seem more intense or frequent than what they see in their friends' children. How to determine what is 'normal' behavior and how to facilitate equilibrium in the household are subjects of this article. An understanding of the purpose of adolescence is necessary for the definition of 'normalcy.' In essence, the teen era is the mirror image of toddlerhood. ...
TEENS WITH PROBLEMS: How to Write a Home Rules Contract NOTE: For the safety of everybody involved, police should be called for ALL violent episodes that occur on the part of the teen with the perceived intent of injuring a family member or destroying property that belongs to other family members. Violence that has no consequences will continue to escalate and could eventually result in a serious incident, so this type of behavior needs to be halted immediately by allowing the teen to experience serious consequences for the violent behavior (police, charges and possible court date). It sounds harsh to call the police on your ...

Troubled Teens & Troubled Teen Resources Abundant Life Academy Ministries is a non-denominational academic/boarding program for kids who are academically unmotivated, in rebellion toward their parents, and captivated by the “trickery” of the world (deceit). Our students have been caught up in the magnetism of the flesh (temptation). Essentially, ALA Ministries is a Christian boarding school for troubled teens… serving kids who are off track, caught up in the pursuit of the fleshly deception, looking for fulfillment in all the wrong places. At ALA Ministries our students are restored to academic success, restored to a life of principled values, and to the Christ-like character that once was abundant in his/her life.
There is no more important unit that God has created and ordained than the “Christ-centered” family. It is within the Christian home that we learn to be Godly people. God has designed the family so that in it, we could acquire every foundational thing we need in regard to emotional and spiritual growth. We learn to interact with others in a Godly fashion through our interactions with members of our immediate family, as well as our church family. We acquire Biblical standards of living through our Christian upbringing. We learn how to worship God and to give Him all the glory through our Christian rearing. Our happiness ...
Abstinence Promotion and Teen Family Planning: The Misguided Drive The cornerstone of the Bush administration's approach to reducing teen pregnancy—and a key component of its effort to promote a conservative moral and religious agenda—is to dramatically increase funding for abstinence-only education. The central argument driving this effort is that there should be "parity" between what the federal government spends on providing contraceptive services to teenagers and what it spends on educational efforts that exclusively promote abstinence outside of marriage and prohibit discussion of contraception. Since the federal government allegedly spends $135 million annually on contraceptive services ...
This proposed funding increase boosts the prospects of conservatives seeking to defend the abstinence-only education program created through the 1996 welfare reform law, which is up for reauthorization this year. At the same time, it strengthens their hands to increase funding for two lesser-known, newer programs that also follow the very restrictive brand of abstinence-only education first established in 1996. These two programs account for why overall funding for abstinence-only education is now twice what was originally contemplated by the 1996 law, and the president's recent budget announcement ...

Teen mother speaks at Hope House banquet One of those affected by the volunteers and the ministry of Hope House was Hillary Brock of Bainbridge, who spoke at the banquet. Brock found out she was pregnant at age 15, and she said she initially thought an abortion would be the answer but thought differently after finding support from her family and church home. Life would never be the same after Feb. 17, when her son Caden was born, Brock said. She concluded by thanking everyone in attendance for their support of Hope House and helping women like her. The keynote speaker for the evening, Richard Chancy from In Joy Ministries, said ...
