There is no meaning.  We are animals. We are born, we breed we die. The end. There is no point, no meaning.

"rockyslammer" rockyslam...@postmaster.co.uk

You missed the point - "we breed"!!  Go for it.

"TubeBoob" Apple.Pe...@gmail.com

I did once. It almost killed me. I'm done breeding.

Well, that was a silly question, if you want those kind of answers to those kind of questions go ask a southern baptist preacher.

Meaning can not possibly precede existence, thus the meaning to life is artificially contrived after the fact.

"You are a spiritual being, distinct and separate from a body. You have lived lifetime after lifetime and will live again. You are seeking to survive for yourself, your family, group, mankind, the physical universe, and to survive as a spirit. And only when you have fully achieved that level of enlightenment can you truly understand the Creator."  DM "And absolutely no part of those efforts have anything to do with mere "belief" or "blind faith"  DM http://www.rtc.org/en_US/presentations/thisisscientology_pg003.html here is the definitve answer - from the mouth of the new lord & master
- David Miscavidge.
Without out any "belief" or "blind faith" we have ALL lived lifetime after lifetime and will live again.  And as DM ***ured us this is the true nature of man.
Now we can all live a much more comfortable and rewarding existance knowing that - can't we?
Please don't think I am being sarcastic here - would I?

Ok.  I'll bite.  IMHO.......
Biologically speaking (and remember: biology is why we're here) the purpose of life is to reproduce.  That's it.  Life is about surviving long enough to p*** your genes into the next generation.  After you've done that (and hopefully reared the next generation), you can die.
That's biology.
Now, of course that's not applicable to today's _human_ society.  I suspect, however, that for most of the animal kingdom (animals, mammals, insects --   you know, anything not human) the only purpose in life is to reproduce.
Period.  The end.  Get those genes into the next generation and perpetuate the species.  Anyone watch "March of the Penguins"?  I think the whole point of that wonderful movie is to show us what those dear birds go through simply to reproduce.  They go through the worst conditions on earth and feel true sorrow for any of their babies who don't survive.

One does not need a "view" to the pseudo-question "What is the meaning of life." Science already knows the answer.
The meaning of life is "differential reproductive success." That is a fact, and anyone who doesn't know it oughtto go back to high school and get remedial education.

To reproduce and also feel happy.
How do we feel happy (i'm ***uming everyones ok with the how to reproduce question)?
We do as much as we can to find what it is our heart tells us. I am using the word heart in a spiritual sense.
And then, whatever happens, at least we are doing what we feel is best.
What more can be asked? If thats what people are doing today, then we should just wait and wait till we eventually learn our lessons.
My bad if anyone thinks i have something wrong. Just speaking what i was in my head.
You guys are more knowledgable and more spiritually aware then me, i am sure.
