ONLINE PARENT SUPPORT Emails From ParentsONLINE PARENT SUPPORT - Emails From Parents Mark, It has been awhile since I last e-mailed you (middle of June I believe). At that time, our 16yo M______ had gotten into a fight which sent the other person (18yo) to the hospital. We weren't sure what was going to happen. We left 2 days after the fight for vacation visiting relatives in another state. When we got back, we were told that the boy was not pressing charges and M______ would be "off the hook". We almost wished for SOMETHING to happen to possibly instill a different view in our son. He felt justified since he didn't ...

My 16 year old son has diagnoses of A.D.D. and O.D.D. His resentment of expectations at home, i.e. chores, rules, and discipline is being used to justify an attempt to change custody. Dad is promising him a driver’s license, car, and job (to pay $15-$17 per hour) while I told him that he needed to be getting passing grades in school to be permitted to get those things. Because I restricted him and Dad is willing to permit him, I’m the bad guy. Help! The court date is THIS Wednesday. `````````````````` Hi N., First of all, I know you are a good mother, so let's not waste anytime debating this. Second of all, if you read ...

The Parent Teen Relationship How Parents Can Make the Most of ItThe Parent- Teen Relationship: How Parents Can Make the Most of It The purpose of these fact sheets is to help parents cope more effectively during their children's adolescence. Although this information is intended mainly for parents of teenagers, it is general enough to be useful to parents of younger children as well. The first fact sheet discussed the way teenagers develop and what parents can do to help them through this time in their life. This second fact sheet focuses on strategies parents can use to deal with typical teenage behaviour.

Not surprisingly, parents sometimes feel overwhelmed by the stress of bringing up teenagers. But there are steps we can take to make things better. We can begin by remembering our own adolescence. Asking ourselves questions like "How much did I share with my parents?" "How critical and argumentative was I at that stage?" and "What were my worries and dreams?" can help us accept our teens' behaviour better.

Teen murder suspect in Fort Pierce was 39a good kid39Teen murder suspect in Fort Pierce was 'a good kid' Who cares where they were buried. Maybe they requested to be buried in those places. The story is about the fact that the son of these victims killed them and then he goes and pleas not guilty. Lets see...because of temporary insanity? Anything to try and lessen the sentence, which considering he did admit to the police that he did indeed kill his parents, I doubt he's going go get any break on his sentence. Then again...with the way this states justice system seems to work- it wouldnt surprise me one bit if he got some kind of a plea deal. I feel horrible for this ...

Another example of why we need stricter gun control. If the gun was not in the house this wouldn't have happened. While he had many options other than shooting them no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. There weren't two people whose life ended that day there were three. This kid is only 16 and will probably spend the rest of his life behind bars. What is it in these types of kids lives that drive them to kill???? That's what should be being discussed not slamming the family!! God rest their ...
