halfway houses?

(7 Messages)

Hello, My nephew is getting out of jail on the 28th. It was a drug and alcohol thing. He has to go to a halfway house for some time. I don`t know how long. What are halfway houses like? What are their rules? I am guessing each one has it`s own rules? I don`t know? I have searched the internet for answeres but haven`t had much luck. Thanks for any info. Dan.

halfway houses

I'm leaving this sunday for a halfway house. I spent 34 day's in rehab, i've been out to long. I know that I need the extra time to learn how to live sober. I'll have 60 day's tomarrow, that's good for me. My anxiety has been really high, and I know it's because I'm leaving. has anyone here done this. I really don't know what to expect.

out of control children Topixout of control children - Topix I have lived in my street for over 15 years, and never had any problems. Recently, I have noticed that there are alot more teenagers out on the streets late at night, blasting their music, disturbing the peace, being very unruly (cursing, fighting, making out in parked cars). I ask myself, where their parents are, and why they arent enforcing a strict curfew on their younsters. Why are these teens allowed out so late when they have school the next morning. I feel like we can blame the media, the children, the teachers, the music, ...

I forgot to add that they made the house next to mine a halfway house and it has ruined my quality of life. I dont know who to complain to or what to do, but move. There are like ten people living next door who also add to the unruliness late at night and even during the day, its like twenty people coming and going and parking cars in front of my house. I dont know what to do? I am just missing the day of long Island when I saw more trees then malls, when after 10pm all you heard were crickets, and when people were ...

Sex Etc quotThirteenquot A Modern ComingofAge StorySex, Etc. -- "Thirteen": A Modern Coming-of-Age Story? This introduction to Tracy, the main character of Thirteen , demonstrates the central theme of losing control. Just as she can’t feel her cheek as she slaps it, Tracy can barely feel her former self as she enters a new world of popularity, sex, and substance abuse. The violent test of her numbness parallels her experimentations with her bodily limits—pushing the boundaries as she falls into self-destruction, a common fate of our generation.

Tracy begins her slide into dangerous habits in an effort to be popular. She sees her male peers worship the middle-school heartthrob, Evie, and longs for that kind of attention. After being stood up for shopping with Evie, Tracy follows her to the stores and learns that she shoplifts. To become friends, Tracy steals a wallet out of a woman’s purse and treats Evie to a shopping spree down the main boulevard.

Former car thief writes some sound advice to a classmate in troubleFormer car thief writes some sound advice to a classmate in trouble In 2003, when his family lived for a short time in North Kansas City, Maurkeyce skipped school and took his mother’s car while she was at work. He played around, spinning doughnuts. Bored, he raced down the street faster and faster until he lost control and rammed through a mailbox and lurched across the lawn and crashed through the living room of a house. Part of the ceiling collapsed on the car. Unhurt, Maurkeyce made his way through the dust and debris and fled to school. The police found his cell phone in the back seat and arrested him that afternoon.

My family and friends had been trying to help me for years, but I didn’t need their help because I didn’t have a problem. And surely there wasn’t a problem with me not having worked in over a year. And don’t you dare tell me I’m not a good father, because my 3 year old little girl and my infant daughter were being poorly cared for because both their ...

What Causes PolyBehavioral AddictionWhat Causes Poly-Behavioral Addiction? The reasons for initially trying different socially acceptable legal drugs (e.g. alcohol, cigarettes, etc.), and/ or illegal drugs, or for that matter any addictive behavior involvement (e.g. gambling, binge-eating, etc.) are multi-factored (e.g. peer-pressure, boredom, etc.).
