One of the main punishments attached to DWI has been taking the individual's license away, but I don't think it deals with the real problem. The real problem is not the individual's right to drive, but his/her drinking, and taking away a person's license is not addressing this problem. When I studied for my driver's permit, one quote which I have always remembered, is that "the right to drive is a privilege, not a right."
