I popped down to the local driving range last night to hit a few. A while later a guy arrives and sets up a few stalls from me. This guy is built like a huge block, with a neck like an ox. He has two clubs only and is still wearing work clothes, aka work safety boots, etc.
He has about 150 balls in his basket. He puts down a ball and actually makes a decent swing. He then lets rip with an angry "F**********CK!!" after hitting his very first ball. His face went a few shades redder.
I decided it was probably time to leave.
I always have the fear that I end up getting paired with a guy like this.

I did get paired with someone like this once, and his son, who evidently learned his golf manners from his father. To make matters worse, he was a member of the club I belonged to, in Va, and he was the General Manager of the plant I worked at, with about 3000 employees. I really felt sorry for the people who worked directly for him, and needless to say, I made sure I avoided that twosome in the future.
What was even worse, neither could break 100 on their best day. :-)

Let's just say that there is one hole on the Sechelt course that, given the opportunity again, I will reconsider offering distance advice.

He get's around...he was playing racquetball in the court next to me today. He had to go to his backup racquet after breaking one against the wall.

Nope.. no penalty.
It is an interesting hole. The fairway splits at a hazard with the more dangerous side the left and the safer route the right.
Kelly was frustrated by the markers which could be found on the left and right of the fairway and gave different readings. Scott, her team mate in the friendly side match, suggested where he thought she should play.
Let's say that she was not overly receptive of his position <g>. I was telling her what the distance marker said where I was standing and she said, "I'm sorry Bob, but that doesn't really help me much here." Long and short of it... Kelly decided where to play on her own and when after her shot, my wife hit into the hazard. Kelly said, "I feel your pain." It was probably one of the more interesting interplays between competitors on any hole I played in the event.

I think it fell under the "line of play" allowance. At least in Canada. :-) It was a light-hearted affair...and I had to drive home with her for eight hours after. :-) Surely there must be a Decision for that in a match among spouses. It was a short par 5 after all.
I think Kel had steam coming out of her ears for about 30 minutes on that one.

I may have you beat. I was leaving the course yesterday and a man who just arrived and was getting his clubs out of his pickemup let rip a "F*****CK". I think his wife may have forgotten to clean his clubs ;-) Henry

I was at the range once where I would hear an unusual noise behind me a couple times a minute. This hard "whack". I turn around for a few to watch what was going on, and this jack*** behind me, when he would hit a bad shot, he'd smack his iron head down ON THE CEMENT. It's was absolutely ridiculous. The odd part is, he was a pretty good hitter.

I guess I need to look at the rule book again. I thought members of a team were allowed to give one another advice in a match.

Rule 8-1 (Advice) During a stipulated round, a player must not: (a) give advice to anyone in the competition playing on the course other than his partner,...
