Is it just me or would anyone else like to square up and drop kick Benson in the nutz.

Mark *Next Year*!?!?!

I guess I thought Benson was part of the community, would help in the rebuilding effort. Instead he takes one of our most prized possessions.
I hope he drops dead, after all the time & money weve invested in the Aints. I'm just not up for any bullshit this month.
We'll get another team, without the baggage . I do feel better about that.

ZULU--K ...@webtv.net (ZULU-KING)

Well..... Let's look at it from another angle .
LSU packs in 90k +, some 70 miles away. Fully 1\3 of dome fans weren't from the metro, anyway. Revenue sharing was designed to keep low income teams solvent.150k people includes Jeff Parish? Our pre-storm numbers were equal to NO with a lot less damage, mostly roofs.
I fully understand Benson relocating for a couple yrs. My beef is that he was always looking for an excuse to bolt. He couldve helped us rebuild, lowered prices a little, and even played at LSU next year. He would've been a hero, and the fans would've found a way to make it happen. The Saints practice facilities are fine, and very few lost homes. You think he wants to sell BR tickets, with Tag coming to the game? He wants to be able to show Tag that he can't make money. I'm going to a game,**** it.
Benson pillaged our state, and left the most faithful fans in the league with nothing but memories. We even bought our cars from him. Now, all we want is our team name. He doesn't deserve it.

The metro area *might* have lost 200K people total to relocation.  The low lying, poor communities probably contributed very little to Saints ticket sales, and especially not the ones that matter... the 90 dollar tickets near the field and the skyboxes.  When everything is said and done, I think this is going to reflect much more on Rita LeBlanc than anyone else.  She was born, raised, and grew up in San Antonio and simply wants to bring her shiny new toy where she lives.
Benson has no reason to relocate even next season.  FEMA wouldn't have put their people up at his facility if it were trashed.  There's nothing wrong with that place other than perhaps a few cosmetic damages and the goal posts.
It's going to be very hard for him to move that team to SA.  The only time that the Cowboys would be played on TV in that area would then be when they played on Sunday night, Monday night, 3pm, or the Thanksgiving day game.
And when the Looters don't sell out there?  NFC games get blacked out.

Benson jumped ship like a rat, before even trying to find out what could be done, that's my point.
benson didn't want any Saints games to be played in louisiana.
And he's starting to fire people that don't want to be a part of his sinister plan.

Bob,         Go pick up your Saint's paycheck!
Kris Guess Benson's firings have put you in a truly corporate mood!

defening benson are you?, I take it you haven't been listening what former saint executive arnold Fielkow was saying about bensons' plans.

I forgot to mention that the Cards averaged attendance at about 40k for years, and they're still kickin. Last year, it was 37!!! The Faiders, and even the mighty Colts round out the bottom, at about 55. That's where revenue sharing comes in. The Saints have surp***ed 50 for BR.
There's still the question of the state ransom payment. Does Benson want to tread water, until better times? I think he would prefer to move along, since we're bled dry for now.

Bob, Benson is both a disloyal New Orleanian, a bad owner and a bad businessman. There are so many examples that they cannot be all listed here.  To wit: Pissing off MLB by attempting to use political influence and Louisiana courts to keep a Triple A team from re-locating to New Orleans, Referring to Mora, Kuharich and Miller as the best managment team in the league, Hiring Mike Ditka, who traded almost two entire drafts for Ricky Williams, Firing Randy Mueller, one of the best GMs in the league, Constantly threatening to move the team which has annually depressed season ticket sales, Firing an executive who produced sellouts for three consecutive years, and on and on.
If Benson had managed the Saints better, he'd have a new stadium by now.  If he had any PR sense at all, he'd realize that standing by the City and State now is his best strategy to get a new stadium in the future, or if things don't work out, a chance to move without meaningful oppostion.  As it stands now, he has offended the fans and the government here and the NFL leadership.  He will not be allowed to move the team to San Antonio for a number of reasons and if it goes to LA, he'll have to sell it as the league would not want him running it there.
You need to wake up and smell the daisies.

ZULU--K ...@webtv.net (ZULU-KING)

Nice work, Jerry. Benson has been exposed.

These two seem to be 'mutually exclusive'(a contradiction). Were they each happening in different decades?  I guess if anyone can pull it off, it would be a car salesman.

one would disagree with the notion that benson is a bad owner and a bad businessman.
Benson was a good owner before going bad over the stadium issue, but he is quite a good businessman afterall, he was a car salesman.
however, you want a bad owner & businessman?, John Mecom was one
