Hi all, I am new here. I am about to start a diet on my doctor's advice due to high blood pressure and obesity. I have decide I will used a diet drug if it is dafe for me to do so. I do not know anything about any of them except Orlistat and I don't think that is what I am looking for.
I am looking for drugs that will work in conjunction with diet and exercise because it is imperative I get my weight down as quickly and safly as possible or the doc says have to go on blood pressure medicine, maybe for the rest of my life he says and I DON'T want that! I know that you cannot rely on pills for everything so I wonder if anyone knows a website that has info and comparisons or reviews on all the availible diet drugs that are out now. Also if anyone reads this and has had success with a particular drug I would love to hears about it Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

The drug you choose should be based on your diet and lifestyle. If you are a sugar addict, then a fat blocker won't do much for you. If you have a problem with just eating too much of everything, then an appitite suppresant might help. If you can stick to a healthy diet that is low on processed and refined carbs, with fairly low fat, and you get a good amount of physical activity in then there aren't likely any diet pills that will benefit you greatly.

Don't do drugs unless you give the exercise and diet at least a year. SPEED KILLS.

While diet drugs may seem like an easy fix to the obesity dilemma, I think most people will tell you that there is no substitute for a healthy diet and good old exercise. Remember - It took a lot of years to put the extra weight on so don't expect to be able to take it off overnight.
Good luck!
Andrew.

I hope that middle number is really 218 or you are a very skinny man, and need to put on that 62 pounds!

I would concur with Patricia. Instead of taking risks with some diet pill, why not opt for a diet which will in the long run not only allow you to lose the weigh but also help you be more healthy? A good vegetable juicing program would allow you to reach both goals in a safe manner.
