New alcohol labelling law

(8 Messages)

Does anyone have any info on this new law? All I know so far is that from the 20th of December all alcohol bottles have to be labelled with the number of stardard drinks they contain. Which means about 90% of imported beers will become illegal and won't be imported anymore. Anyone with any more information? I can't find much on the net, just uninformative references. Thanks Andy

Drink Driving Question..

(23 Messages)

Ok, my wife just pulled over (in Melbourne) at a booze bus and blew .072. No excuses - she miscalculated her limit - simple. $300 fine and 6 month suspension. My question is this : If we get a lawyer and we take it to court, what are the chances of her getting off the suspension? Some extra factors are - -Pretty clean 14 year driving history (1 minor speeding ticket) -Needs the car for work (and can prove it). In fact, she'll prolly lose her job without it. -She asked for a blood test and was to ...

He does this a ...

Screening Early Identification and Officebased Intervention WithScreening, Early Identification, and Office-based Intervention With Combining the principles of anticipatory guidance, screening, and early identification, with the acknowledgment that families should be included in the process, leads to a clear conclusion that screening for children affected by parental substance abuse must occur at all ages across infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Health care providers need to be trained in the identification and management of children and youth exposed to parental addiction. Such training must begin during undergraduate education in the health professions and be reinforced by role-modeling among health professions faculty as well as practicing ...

If these families and children are identified early, some of the associated morbidity may be avoided. Child and adolescent health care providers can have a tremendous influence on families of substance-abusing parents because of their understanding of family dynamics and their close long-standing relationship with the family. Information about family alcohol and other drug use should be obtained as part of routine history-taking and when there are indications of family dysfunction, child behavior or emotional problems, school difficulties, and recurring episodes of apparent accidental trauma, and in the setting of recurrent ...

Screening For Alcohol Abuse and AlcoholRelated Problems inScreening For Alcohol Abuse and Alcohol-Related Problems in Screening For Alcohol Abuse and Alcohol-Related Problems in College Populations Alcohol use among college students is a serious cause for concern. Many students are under the legal drinking age. Moreover, many engage in heavy episodic, or binge, drinking. The National Institute on alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) defines binge drinking as consuming enough alcohol to result in a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08, which, for most adults, would be five drinks for men or four for women over a 2-hour period. Approximately 39 to 44 percent of college students ...

Screening for PolyBehavioral AddictionScreening for Poly-Behavioral Addiction With the end of the Cold War, the threat of a world nuclear war has diminished considerably. It may be hard to imagine that in the end, comedians may be exploiting the humor in the fact that it wasn t nuclear warheads, but French fries that annihilated the human race, when considering that food addictions and their related diseases now afflict more people globally than malnutrition. The behavioral addiction disorders (e.g., food addictions, pathological gambling, and other obsessively-compulsive behavioral-patterns to religion, and/ or sex / pornography, etc.) are just as damaging, psychologically and socially as alcohol and drug abuse.

What Kind of Sports Coach are You39What Kind of Sports Coach are You' The authors define "the performance zone" as a time interval that begins 30 minutes before exercise and ends 15 minutes after exercise. "Science clearly shows that the right combination of fluid and nutrients consumed within the Performance Zone will help you improve your athletic performance far more than the latest high-tech equipment or training device," they write. Here's another one from Latif's phone consult file: Last week I had the opportunity to talk to an excellent coach who is running into a problem that I have had countless experiences with. Since I know it's something Patrick and I have seen many times, I figured there was a good chance you can relate to it as well. Besides, over the past few weeks we've been sending you emails calling you out for not stepping up your coaching knowledge. So this week I want to focus on a coach who has taken that nextstep and is making a safe, positive ...
