Cuyahoga County Department of Justice Affairs Youth Development CenterCuyahoga County Department of Justice Affairs Youth Development Center University Programs - Students from Kent State, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Akron utilize the Youth Development Center to meet requirements and gain valuable experience in the completion of their practicum's and internships. The responsibilities each student is given is contingent upon the level of education they have completed. A new addition was added this year with classes for YDC students, developed, organized, and implemented by the Kent State University Art Education Department. Thus far, the project has been creative and educational for all parties.

It is this affirmation of the individual’s dignity that is the basis for our work and community. Our programs are a place to instill hope, an opportunity to consider what other possibilities there are for a person’s life. We walk with our residents, inviting them to direct their energy and gifts toward the challenges and the issues that have contributed to their homelessness, and to move to a more stable living situation.

Hospitality Kitchen The Hospitality Kitchen provides breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 am. Lunch is served from 11:00 am -12:30 pm. The Hospitality Kitchen serves an average of 1,000 meals a day to over 3,200 people a year. The Kitchen is closed all major holidays. In addition to meals the Kitchen provides chaplain services; homeless veteran outreach; assistance accessing food stamps, medical coupons and state disability payments; a psychologist; information and referral services; and coats, socks, blankets and toilet articles ...

Youth CenterYouth Center Saint Ann Neighborhood Youth Center is an outreach program that targets students from surrounding low income and public housing area. It is a collaborative effort by the church and school community to provide educational support and assistance to students and their families. The Youth Center is an after-school program that offers individual tutoring and a monthly family night. The program is staffed by volunteers and is totally funded through grants and donations.

Volunteer Services Agency Inc a United Way Agency is theVolunteer Services Agency Inc., a United Way Agency, is the Help Hotline: Do a collection project in your church, neighborhood or place of employment. Personal-care items needed such as soap, shampoo, shaving cream, deodorant, lotion, lip balm, slippers, socks, toothpaste and toothbrushes, combs, brushes, gloves scarves, hats and small purses. They will be donated to low-income and at-risk clients served by the agency.
