This is an emerging field in which horses are involved as co-therapists to promote emotional growth and learning. Participants work one-on-one with horses in a variety of experiences. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses, and then discussing their feelings, specific behaviors and behavior patterns which have parallels in their own lives. By working with the horse, participants may reveal or experience issues that may not have been brought to the surface by other therapeutic interventions.
